Humayun Azad |
Humayun Azad was an author, poet, scholar and linguist. He was born in 28 April 1947 at Rarhikhal, Munshiganj, Bangladesh. He wrote more than seventy titles of poetry, fiction, literary criticism, linguistics, teenage literature. He is regarded as one of the most powerful and influential writer in the history of modern Bengali literature. Azad was awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1986 for his contribution to Bengali linguistics. In 2012 he was honored with Ekushey Padak posthumously by the Government of Bangladesh.
